Custom Fabricated Copper Crucibles, Molds, Hearths and Liners
Strohecker's 40,000 sq. ft fabrication shop features state-of-the-art welding processes, crane capacities up to 50 tons, turning capacities up to 120", uniquely designed sizing and straightening facilities, and an experienced production staff.
Strohecker produces copper crucibles, copper molds and copper liners ranging from the smallest laboratory furnace sizes to the largest production furnace sizes.
Carefully sourced wrought copper materials are used for the optimum combination of strength and durability, thermal and electrical conductivity and weldability. Copper-to-copper body welds are 100% dye-penetrant and radiographically inspected. Dissimilar joints between copper bodies and steel, stainless steel or aluminum-bronze flanges receive similar close attention to detail, with careful consideration given to differential expansion and metallurgical compatibility.
Steel and stainless steel water jackets, high-velocity water guides, base plate support spiders and other furnace station fixtures are produced with the structural integrity, dimensional accuracy and concentricity required for uniform water flow and for the ease of assembly and disassembly required for efficient melt shop operation.
